"I don't think I understand," states Robin Sena as she listens to a proposition given to her by some old fart. She had just sat down at the bar for a quick nightcap at a random bar in Tokyo when he -- quite rudely in her opinion -- plopped down next to her and said he had an offer for her to ponder. Ten minutes of complex battle strategy later, we arrive at the beginning of this paragraph. "But first of all, why me?"
"You're the witch hunter Robin, are you not?"
"Well, yes, I am."
"Then you're the one I need. You see, there's a witch amongst the guards. I'm guessing that won't be a problem?"
"Depends on her abilities, and the strength of those abilities. Regardless, why the assumption that I'm going to help you?"
"Cash?"
"So, you're paying me to break into some building and steal a scrap of paper?"
"Indeed. I've already explained the basic entry and exit strategy, how you deal with the guards is up to you."
"Well, in that case, it sounds like a decent idea, if only because the plot moves forward because I agree to do so."
"Excellent! I'll wait for your return here."
Somewhere in New York we catch up to the multi-billionaire Tony Stark who has likewise stepped into a bar. He approaches the bartender and takes a seat on a stool next to an older fella, who's sitting next to a rather androgynous-looking individual. He orders a drink and begins to take a sip when the old guy interrupts. "Well, now that you're both here, we can begin."
"Excuse me?" ask Tony and TX, turning their heads towards the old guy.
You guessed it, same old guy, similar offer. He explains the plan and offers them payment in exchange for a scrap of paper. And once again, they agree if only because it's convenient for the story (which in the case of Tony, is quite true; what does he need with cash?). A similar scene plays out in another unnamed location with Hayate and Johnny Bartlett, bringing the teams to three. Well, two teams and a solo witch, anyway.
Thus we rejoin Robin in Neo Tokyo where she has waited until nightfall to begin her mission. Following the old man's plan, she outfits herself in black leather, pulls a black trenchcoat over her shoulders, locks and loads several small caliber firearms, and throws on a pair of sunglasses. Wait a second, that's someone else's plan.... That's right, the plan involved sneaking in from a fire escape or something, not storming through the front gate. Doing so, she stealthfully dodges several guards on their rounds as she moves through the halls towards a stairwell that leads to the top floor. Upon arrival outside the room, she feels a strange sensation from the other side of the door. "The witch," she thinks as she slowly opens the door.
Back in New York, Mr. Stark and his new partner in crime TX-38 are in a similar situation. They've managed to locate the proper establishment and have since stealthfully entered the facility on their way to the desired room. As they turn the last corner however, they are fallen upon by something new: a half-dozen security droids armed to the teeth.
As should be obvious by now, Hayate and Johnny are in a similar situation themselves. Their little roadblock is neither a witch nor a mob of robots, they get the fun of zombie ninjas. Hundred if not thousands of them. I mean, seriously, what story's complete without zombie ninjas? Before the battle can be joined however, reinforcements arrive for the duo in the form of a familiar face to Johnny: that ninja chick off the streets from a few days back.
And so the war over the scraps of paper begins. In Tokyo, Robin's flames mix with the other mage's ice, filling the hallways of the office building with steam as the fire vaporizes the ice, which in turn nullifies the heat. Returning to New York we find the Iron Man and his ally TX exchanging blasts with the robot army, filling the walls and windows with lots and lots of burn holes. Tony seems to be doing most of the destruction though, as TX's shapeshifted arm-to-blaster isn't doing all that much damage. Somewhere else on Earth, a standard shinobi fight. Ninja blades, throwing stars, the works. Of course Johnny isn't a ninja, but he's doing the best he can with his Darkforce.
Minutes turn to hours as the battles draw out and just as they seem like they'll never end, all three teams miraculously find an opening and capitalize. Having overexerted herself in the fight with Robin, the Tokyo witch has a moment of weakness and finds herself engulfed in an inferno. Unfortunately for her, Robin didn't hold back. Nothing like a good old witch burning, huh?
With that fight over, we are brought back to New York where it turns out that while Tony has been blasting holes in the self-repairing android security force, TX has been attempting to hack their AI, obfuscated by his faux combat. And as already reported, at about the exact moment of Robin's victorious blast of fire, TX manages to smash through their firewalls and obtain control over the enemy. Within seconds the droids stand down and the battle is over.
Back in nowhere-in-particularville, Hayate, Johnny, and the unknown female ninja are quickly finishing up with the horde of zombie ninja assassin guards. Notice the addition of assassin in their title; that makes them tougher, right? Anyway, despite their seemingly neverending numbers, eventually the animated corpses have reacquired their former defunction, the three infiltrators mostly uninjured. Sure, Johnny's clothing is torn here and there, but no blood seems to have been drawn by the blows, slashes, swipes, and what-not. In contrast, the newcomer bares only minor wounds, having deflecting the brunt of the attacks against her. Hayate is completely untouched, due to the combination of his training, his powers, and the years of experience fighting foes that even one of which would consider this whole encounter little more than a light workout.
Having disposed of their respective enemies, the three teams manage to locate the hidden safe in each room, exactly where the old man said they'd be. Cracking the safes open using their respective abilities, they all soon acquire their individual scraps of paper, escape the complexes unnoticed by the normal guards, and return to find the old man waiting patiently. He gives them all similar generic thank yous, hands over a small chunk of Cash, then disappears in puff of smoke before anyone can ask any questions.
The next day news of the thefts are all over the media. It's only at this time that the individuals involved learn that the three facilities belonged to Yum! Brands, Inc., owners of several fast food chains. Those facilities in particular currently housed the top secret recipes for Kentucky Fried Chicken, Taco Bell, and Pizza Hut. Within a few days a new fast food chain opens named Kentacohut, owned and managed by the same old man that hired our heroes to do the questionable deeds they performed. From what I hear, Kentacohut is currently in the middle of a massive legal battle.
